CitiFinancial Mortgage

CitiFinancial Mortgage is part of the Citigroup, the world’s largest financial services group of companies, including Smith Barney, Citibank, Travelers Life & Annuity, Citicorp Trust Bank, fsb and Primerica. CitiFinancial has been providing loans since 1912, beginning as Commercial Credit. In 1916, the company offered its first installment loans to help people to purchase automobiles. By 1998, through a series of expansions, acquisitions and mergers, Citigroup was serving 20 million customers worldwide. In 2004, Citigroup acquired the assets of Washington Mutual Finance Corporation, making it the largest community based lender in the United States. Despite the global reach of the company, CitiFinancial is committed to community; each branch is operated as an independent center, with decisions made locally by staff who live in the communities where they work. The personal touch is important in the corporate culture. Repeat customers account for half the loans made by the company.
