Great Southwest Mortgage is a full service mortgage banker that claims to provide an unlimited number of loan programs. The company began in Phoenix, Arizona when it opened its first office as the Retail Lending arm of First Magnus Financial Cooperation, which is headquartered in Tucson. First Magnus is one of the top 15 Federal Housing Administration (FHA) lenders in the United States, and funds over $2 billion in residential mortgage loans a month.
In only three years after opening its office in Phoenix, Great Southwest became one of the city’s top ten mortgage lenders. In Arizona alone, Great Southwest’s annual retail volume tops $1 billion. The company has continued to expand to its market and clientele, and is now licensed in 49 states—and it is continuing to add new affiliate branches. The company prides itself on its competitive rates and fees, having “the most advanced technological enhancements in the industry,” and on their unlimited availability of loan products.
Loans Offered by Great Southwest Mortgage
Although Great Southwest Mortgage does not specifically provide a list of the loans they fund, since they claim to provided “an unlimited number of available loan products,” one assumes that provide all types of mortgage loan options, including:
- First Time Homebuyer Programs
- Fixed Rate Loans
- Adjustable Rate (ARM) Loans
- Jumbo Loans
- Combo Loans
- Balloon Loans
- Refinance Loans
The technological innovations that Great Southwest makes available to its clients are demonstrated in the Great Southwest Mortgage website, a series of mortgage calculators to help you determine how much you can borrow, whether fixed or adjustable rate mortgage loans are better, the type of home you can afford, and even how much you can save in taxes, among other mortgage-related financial issues. The website also includes a Mortgage Loan Glossary, a guide to the mortgage process, and a Loan Consultant Finder to help you find a Great Southwest Mortgage loan consultant in your area or by name.
Although they have grown into a large company, this has not made them sacrifice the benefits that clients receive from working with a small mortgage lender. Great Southwest is large enough to be able to implement “the latest in technological support” and “to provide the most efficient mortgage transaction possible.” However, Great Southwest is not so big that they cannot offer the flexibility of a smaller mortgage broker, and they still “care about every single borrower and provide uncompromising customer service.” Also, because they focus on new home loans and refinancing loans, Great Southwest feels that it is able to provide better service than its competitors.
